As the February election draws near, the political parties and their presidential candidates continue to campaign for votes.

On Friday, January 27, the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi was made a surprised visit to the popular Banex plaza in Abuja, the capital city.

His surprised visit earned him a large crowd to his disbelief. These residents cheered and chanted his name, "Obi".

The plaza which is filled with several business people could not hold back their excitement as they all came out of their stores, took out their phones to record and catch a glimpse of the presidential candidate.

Peter Obi who could not alight from his vehicle due to the massive crowd gathered, had to address the people from his car.

Speaking to the teeming crowd, Obi said:

"Let me most sincerely thank all of you.

"This election is not about tribes, this election is not about religion. Make sure on that day, you come out and vote.

"I never expected this type of crowd. I was just passing by.

"Please ensure you go and collect your PVCs, and on that day you come out and vote and ensure that your vote is counted."

"It is time for you to take back Nigeria from the politicians taking your money."

"Hold me responsible if I don't change Nigeria."

"We want poverty to end in Nigeria. We want our children to go to school."

"A new Nigeria is possible," he said.
