Former Super Eagles midfielder Christian Obodo has shared his thoughts on why top European clubs are hesitant to sign Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen, 26, has been linked with a move away from Galatasaray following the conclusion of his season-long loan spell with the Turkish champions.
Despite having a remarkable campaign with the Yellow and Reds where he racked up 37 goals in 41 appearances, his suitors are reluctant to pay his transfer fee.
“I know Osimhen would still like to play European football and achieve a lot, but the clause Napoli put on him and his wages are scaring clubs away,” Obodo told Brila FM.
“The clubs do not want to make a decision that will come back and make them regret.
“If Osimhen were Brazilian, they (European top clubs) would have signed since.”
Osimhen has rejected multiple lucrative offers from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, indicating his desire to continue playing at the top level in Europe.
