Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle has emerged as a potential candidate to replace Roberto De Zerbi at Olympique Marseille.

De Zerbi resigned as head coach of Marseille following his side’s 5-0 thrashing by bitter rivals Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 last weekend.

Marseille are in search of a new manager to replace the former Brighton & Hove Albion coach, who stepped down on Tuesday, February 10.

According to journalist Lassana Camara, Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle is among the managers under consideration by the French club.

Meanwhile, Habib Beye, who was recently sacked by Stade Rennes, is another African coach on Marseille’s radar.

Eric Chelle has been linked with a number of clubs and national teams following his remarkable campaign with Nigeria at the recent Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

However, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president Ibrahim Gusau recently disclosed that the Malian tactician will see out the one year left on his contract with the federation.
