Legendary Nigerian goalkeeper has hailed the achievement of his former club, Lille in displacing Paris Saint Germain to emerge French League champions at the end of the 2020-21 season.

Les Dogues won their fourth title in their history after finishing one point ahead of closest rivals PSG.

Christophe Galtier's men claimed their first title in 10 years after ending PSG's dominance in the top-flight last term, Legit.ng reports.

The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner who spent seven seasons at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy has now expressed excitement for the club.

Enyeama insisted that the victory was to crown their efforts over all their years of investment in the French League.

He told Legit.ng in an exclusive interview: "I am happy for the team and for the establishment, they are one of the best in Europe so they deserve something to show for the years of investment."

Although he failed to any title during his seven-year reign at the club, he was however named winner of the Prix Marc-Vivien Foe award in 2014 - the prize for excellent Africa players in France.

The two-time CAF Champions League winner is also Nigeria's most capped player with 101 appearances in all competitions.
