Inspector-General of Police, Adamu Mohammed Inspector-General of Police, Adamu Mohammed

The Inspector-General of Police, Adamu Mohammed has revealed that some youth who were part of the #EndSARS protesters have expressed interest in joining the Nigeria Police Force.

Speaking on Channel's TV program on Monday, January 25, 2021, Adamu said the youths want to join the force on the premise of "the service the police provide is a service of God."

“The youths who participated in the #EndSARS and the rest of them, many of them want to join the police.

“Many of them will come and say, ‘Please, we want to join the police,’ because the service the police provide is a service of God,” Adamu said.

The police chief further urged medical officers to save the lives of persons who come to the hospital with gunshot wounds rather than demand a police report.

He said: “Save life first… lives must be saved first before thinking of any other thing to do…there is no issue of asking for any police report before you treat anybody with gunshot wounds."
