An incident has occurred in Abuja as Nigerians embark on a nationwide protest.

Reports indicate that the police fired tear gas at protesters who were peacefully demonstrating as captured in several videos.

Residents have expressed disappointments in the security operatives who threw two canisters of teargas at them.

A nursing mother cried out for help as the teargas affected her baby. She lamented the actions of the policemen.

In addition to Abuja, the nationwide protest is underway in several states, including Bayelsa, Kano, and Lagos among others.

While some states have businesses shut down, others are continuing with their daily activities.
