Singer Emma Nyra has been dragged on social media after she said that people are rejoicing about Hushpuppi's downfall because he was oppressing them on social media.

She also said that rejoicing about his downfall won't put money in anybody's pocket.

Emma Nyra tweeted: "A lot of people are happy about what happened to Hushpuppi because he was oppressing them on social media. The truth is that rejoicing in his downfall is not gonna put money in your pocket. I’m tired of reading about someone else’s downfall. Let me jeje hustle my own".

The tweet didn't sit well with many Nigerians who descended on her on Twitter.

They had perceived an attempt to paint Hushpuppi in good light while making those who rejoiced at his arrest look bad.

One @DamiElebe opined: "I just want us to understand that there is a difference between people rejoicing a downfall and people glad they've arrested a criminal. If you don't know the difference, you're part of the problem. We keep glorifying fraud. We keep finding ways to make it seem okay. It is not okay to be a thief. Because you are not carrying gun and robbing bank doesn't make you any different. Period, point, blank".

@Ayo_FAD wrote: "There's a difference between downfall and when justice is served. Hushpuppi's was "justice served". Not a downfall at all".

@ody_johnson wrote: "A criminal sympathiser is a a potential criminal accomplice. So Hushpuppi committed a crime and is being dragged and mocked for his crimes, but EmmaNyra abi EmmaKobo wants to guilty trip the people dragging a criminal".

@yinkanubi wrote: "1.9m people were defrauded of their hard earned money by Hushpuppi and his crew so that he can oppress people on social media and get the benefit of people like you & DaddyFRZ celebrating him. That is 1.9m families suffering from the actions of a thief you are codedly defending".

@Somg20 wrote: "So what are u going to say about the downfall of abt 1.9million pple he messed up? U didn't know he's been rejoicing over there downfall? Madam Hush is done for, he will pay for his wickedness, stupidity & fraudulent dealings. I personally rejoice in his downfall... Thank you".

@Cerebrone wrote: "This is a really disappointing take from you. Delete & do better. The man defrauded 1.9 million of their money. When justice is served to such people, it’s deserved. He should be disgraced. The consequences of the actions of fraudsters like him transcend his victims. Abeg".

@Obajaiyeoba wrote: "To face the punishment for a crime you commited is not "downfall", rather, it is justice being served! He is a criminal and only people of like criminal minds and tendencies will see his arrest and due prosecution as a 'downfall'".

@DavidHundeyin wrote: "Happy to say that I have never consumed any content with Emma Nyra's name on it. I only sort of know this person exists because Fally Ipupa once mentioned her name on a track. Very happy to go through the rest of my life without hearing anything from this person".
