Elon Musk’s ‘X’ is down globally

Elon Musk’s social media platform, X, formerly known as Twitter is down.

According to the web monitoring platform, Downdetector.com, several users across the globe have reported outages on Thursday. Users were unable to view posts as all fields are not loading.

Users in Nigeria have also not been able to access information on the platform. Millions of Nigerians rely on the platform for news, engagements and meetings through X spaces.

Here’s what we know at the moment

Downdetector noted there are over 70,000 reports of not being able to use the platform.

As of the time of filing this report, there is no information on what has caused this issue.

This is not the first time that X is facing an outage. The Elon Musk-owned platform has faced downtime.

In March and July this year. In July, Downdetector reported that X was down over 13,000 times in the US and the UK.

Users shared that they say the message, “Sorry, you are rate limited. Please wait a few moments then try again.”

It is unclear yet how long the outage will last. But it is expected that the platform may be up any moment from now.
