Election 2023: Atiku and I have spoken several times on phone - Peter Obi confirms

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party has confirmed that he has spoken several times with Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party after the February 25 elections.

Obi, who was the running mate to Atiku in the 2019 presidential elections noted that despite talking to him, his commitment to a new Nigeria remains the same.

He made the comment on Arise TV on Monday, March 13 when he was asked by Rufai if he has spoken to the leader of the opposition party.

Recall that the PDP and the Labour Party in a just conference after the declaration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as president-elect said they were challenging the processes of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

"Ofcourse I have spoken to Atiku Abubakar on issues. We always remain close because he is my respected older brother. But on the issue of Nigeria, we are two different candidates. I am committed to a new Nigeria, to doing things differently and my commitment is total," Peter Obi said.

"But my commitment in any way doesn't affect my respect for him."
