El-Rufai hasn't turned down Tinubu's ministerial nomination - APC Secretary, Basiru clarifies

The National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Ajibola Basiru says former Governor and ministerial nominee is still in the running to be a member of President Bola Tinubu's cabinet despite the Senate not confirming his nomination.

He made the comment in an interview on Channels Television on Sunday, August 13.

The former senator said he is not heard El-Rufai said he isn't interested in the ministerial role.

"I have not heard him (El-Rufai) say he no longer interested in the nomination. I have also not heard that Mr. President has withdrawn that nomination. The is a difference between and incoming process and a complete process."

"As regard Malam Nasir El-Rufai, Stella Okotete and my brother Danlad from Taraba State, the process is still on and the National Assembly have not turned down the nomination."
