El Classico: Madrid beat Barca 2-0 to go top of La Liga

Real Madrid have defeated Barcelona in the second leg of the El Classico league match by 2-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Sunday night's win marks Zinadine Zidane's first Classico win against defending champions Barcelona.

Both sides played a goalless draw in the first 45 minutes with the Blaugrana emerging the better side with two shots on target.

The second half was al Real's as they kept pushing for the win which they got through Vinicius Junior (71') and Mariano Diaz (90+2').

Madrid's win over Barca marks an end to a seven-game winless streak in the El Classico.

Zidane's men return to the top of the La Liga standings with one point ahead of Quique Setien's Barcelona.
