The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) has stated on Monday that things are getting better with the All Progressives Congress after the victory of the party’s candidate in the Ekiti State governorship elections last Saturday.

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, titled ‘President Buhari receives Ekiti Gov-Elect, says things getting better with APC,’ Buhari commented when he received the newly elected Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Premising his comments on the support Oyebanji had gotten from other governors of the APC, the President expressed hope that such support would continue.

According to Adesina, the president stated that he keenly followed the polls held on Saturday, June 18, and was happy with the orderly conduct, and the way the electorate and security agencies comported themselves.

He said: “I loved how the APC Governors mobilized and supported you. I think the party is very lucky, and things are getting better. I congratulate the Chairman, and I pray you to sustain it.”
