Eight killed as police, suspected kidnappers clash in Taraba

Police Police

At least eight suspected kidnappers have been killed by officers of the Taraba State Police Command on Thursday during a clash at the Gadzaru area near Bali Local Government Area of the state.

This comes after at least four suspected kidnappers were lynched and burnt by an angry mob at Sabongida town in Gassol Local Government Area.

During Thursday's faceoff, the police confirmed that at least four of the suspects were wearing army camouflage, according to Daily Trust.

The state’s police spokesman, DSP David Misal, confirmed the incident, saying two AK-47 rifles, two AK-47 magazines, two single barrel guns, army camouflage and other items were recovered from the kidnappers.

“The kidnappers were on their way to Bali to kidnap some people and their criminal mission was leaked to the police,” Misal said.
