Eight children have been confirmed dead after they were found dead in a parked car on Saturday, December 4.

The Cable reports that the kids who died through possible suffocation were spotted in a car parked along Adelayo Street, Jah-Michael Bus-Stop, off Badagry Expressway, Lagos.

The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Adekunle Ajisebutu said the children unknownly locked themselves in the car while they were playing.

Mr. Ajisebutu added that their bodies have been taken to the Badagry General Hospital mortuary.

He said: “The eight children were said to have mistakenly locked themselves in an abandoned car while playing.

Their bodies have been recovered and deposited at the Badagry General Hospital’s morgue for an autopsy so as to determine the actual cause of death.”

He added that the commissioner for police in Lagos, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered an investigation into the incident to ascertain what really caused the kids' death.

PM News added that one of the children was the grandchild of the owner of the car, who happened to be a late, retired staff of the Lagos State University (LASU).

It was gathered that the other seven kids are the children of Burea De Change operators in the area.
