Edo election: Ize-Iyamu will only win by manipulation - Primate Ayodele

The leader of INRI Evangelical spiritual church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has stated that Governor Godwin Obaseki will win the poll because he is a "God's project", and can only be eased out of the race through manipulation.

He made the statement in an interview with Legit TV in Lagos.

"Two years ago, I said Obaseki is God's project. Without manipulation, give it to Obaseki. Obaseki can only be eased out with manipulation. If he (Obaseki) wins, Oshiomhole is going into oblivion.

"If he does not take the right steps, they will manipulate him out. So, he must not relent, he must do what is necessary to win the victory.

"Ize-Iyamu cannot win. He can only win by manipulation. If he wins, his government will not be a government," the popular prophet said, adding that the APC flagbearer is confused.

Edo governorship election has been scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2020 with the poll looking a two-horse race way between All Progressives Congress (APC)'s Osagie Ize-Iyamu and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s Obaseki.

There is heightened tension in the south state occasioned by the statements of some politicians.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has, however, expressed commitment to go on with the election as scheduled.
