The Labour Party candidate in the Edo State governorship election, Olumide Akpata has taken his campaign to the younger generation in the state as he intensifies his efforts ahead of September 21.
The former President of the Nigeria Bar Association shared a video of himself in an identified club in Benin, the capital of Edo.
"Last Friday, in the course of an intense and gruelling week on the campaign trail, a couple of my younger friends dragged me out for a much-needed night out in Benin City, and a time was had!" he captioned the photo.
"The grind doesn’t stop, but you have to find those moments to unwind and vibe with your people to recharge the batteries. Then it’s right back to putting in the work for the people. Have a nice week ahead. We move!"
Meanwhile, Akpata believes the internal crisis rocking the party wont distract him from the ongoing campaign.
He said he believed that the LP internal crisis would not stop Edo people from voting for him if they believed in his message.
Akpata spoke to journalists on Sunday in Benin, the state capital.
Lamenting the protracted LP internal crisis, he said, “If we were having primaries, I would be bothered. But this is a state election and our target audience is the people of Edo State. They’re the electorate. It is their votes that we need. It is not in contention that I am the candidate of the Labour Party. Nobody is contesting that.
