Former Chairman of the Oyo State Sports Council, Honourable Temilola Adibi, has commended the state’s contingent for the feat recorded at the just concluded National Sports Festival held in Benin City, the capital of Edo State.

Adibi, in a statement on Saturday commended the representatives of Oyo State at the National Sports fiesta for surpassing the state’s previous records at the games.

He noted that though Oyo state is renowned for excellence in sporting activities, the performance at Edo 2020 further attestate the fact, as the state excellently surpassed its records at the National Sports Festival by winning more laurels and finished 6th on the log.

Adibi, who is the current Director-General of the Oyo State Signage and Advertising Agency (OYSAA), further said that: “Having commended the state’s contingent for putting up a good show, let me also hail the state governor, Mr Seyi Makinde, for the support given to the team.

“If the governor had not given the state’s representatives the needed motivation, I am very sure they might not find it easy to return home with such an impressive record. This shows that the governor really means business as far as the development of all sectors is concerned.”

He therefore urged members of Team Oyo not to relent and work towards improving on the record set at Edo 2020, stating that this can only be achieved by intensifying training and also not giving up on their resolve to take Oyo State to greater heights in the world of sports.
