The Ogun State Police Command has said it is investigating a viral video showing some girls assaulting a female student of Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH).

The video was shared on X by @DephillS, who said the assaulted girl suffered the predicament because she was dating the boyfriend of one of the assailants..

He said, "A girl of Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH) was brutally assaulted by a group of girls solely because she is dating the boyfriend of one of their female friends."

In the video, the girl could be seen crying with stripes and bruises all over her body while her nose bled.

The assailants could be seen with canes while some girls tried to prevent them from extending their action.

Reacting, the Ogun State Police Command told MyNigeria that the incident happened at Igbesa, adding that "the DPO Igbesa has taken charge of the case."
