Google has begun to review policies surrounding the usage of its products.

The company made this announcement in its review of policies surrounding some of the services provided by its numerous products.

Very popular amongst them are YouTube, AdSense, Google Ad, Google payments, Gmail amongst others.

Google's latest policy update

In its latest policy update, it gave specific service age requirements for users. It barred users less than 18 from using services like YouTube, AdSense, Google Ad, and Google payments.

For YouTube, the tech giant revealed that some of its videos are now age-restricted and its either the user is above 18 to view it or the user has to check their country's age requirement for assessing such content.

It advised parents to help children create and manage a Google account with their family link, though it stated that the age restriction may not be applicable to G Suite users, including accounts in G Suite for Education domains.

Google, however, warned users not to flout its new rules as it would disable their account if they were underage.

"Across Google services, if you enter a birth date indicating you are not old enough to have a Google account, your account may be disabled," it warned.
