Nigerian striker Emmanuel Dennis has returned to Nottingham Forest following the completion of his loan spell at Blackburn Rovers in the Sky Bet Championship.

The former Watford striker joined Rovers on a six-month loan deal last January after failing to make a single appearance for the Tricky Trees all season.

Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo deemed the Super Eagles striker as surplus to requirement at the City Ground.

After joining the English second tier side in search of regular playing time, Dennis' stint was marred by injuries.

The 27-year-old managed just seven appearances, starting in just one of those games for the Rovers.

With just a year left on his current contract with Nottingham Forest, a permanent deal thizs summer could be on the cards for the former Watford man.
