Veteran Nollywood actress and outspoken social advocate, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has opened up about the personal toll the EndSARS protests took on her family, revealing that her children were subjected to death threats during the movement.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Rubbin’ Minds on Sunday, the 48-year-old actress explained that while she has long been accustomed to intimidation because of her activism, the EndSARS period marked a dangerous escalation.

Omotola said she had received death threats in the past, but the situation became alarming when the threats extended to her children. According to her, that moment forced a deep reassessment of her role and approach to advocacy.

She disclosed that people began showing up at her home and workplace in search of her, making it clear that the risks were no longer personal. Protecting her family, especially her children, became her top priority.

The actress noted that the experience influenced her decision to step away from frontline protests and embrace a more strategic form of advocacy. As her children grow older and more independent, she admitted it has become harder to guarantee their safety.

While stressing that she has never feared for her own life, Omotola emphasized that the security of her children is non-negotiable.
