Human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has said it was a "social media bail" that was granted to his client, Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), who is in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
VeryDarkMan was arrested last week by the anti-graft agency, which based their action on a series of petition on alleged financial crimes leveled against him.
In a statement on Tuesday, the EFCC said the activist was in their custody because they had a lawful right to hold him like any other suspect under their investigation.
The agency, however, revealed that VeryDarkMan had been offered an administrative bail and would be released after fulfilling all the bail conditions.
Reacting, Adeyanju lamented that his team was yet to receive any document concerning bail from the EFCC.
He shared on X, "Bail granted VDM, social media bail as we are yet to receive any bail document from the commission. We have made several repeated demands in this regard since yesterday that we were informed about decision to grant bail."
