The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has traced some amount of money to several bank accounts allegedly belonging to Chinedum Orji, the son of former Governor of Abia State, T.A Orji.

This was after Save Nigeria Group, SNG, filed a petition against him and his father who was governor of Abia State between 2007 and 2011.

T.A Orji who now represents Abia Central Senatorial district is accused of monthly withdrawal of N500 million as security votes from the state's treasury.

According to SNG, Chinedum Orji owns 100 bank accounts while his father diverted ”N383 billion revenue from the Federation Account, N55 billion Excess Crude revenue, N2.3 billion Sure-P revenue, N1.8 billion ecological funds, N10.5 billion loan, N12 billion Paris Club refund, N2 billion agricultural loan, and N55 billion ASOPADEC money while in office".

EFCC's Spokesperson, Tony Orilade, revealed that both men were released on administrative bail and that the anti-graft agency had to wait three years before working on the petition against them because of protocol.
