Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 arrested about 87 forex dealers in Abuja, Lagos and Kano.

This was made known in a report by The Punch, sighted by MyNigeria.

The onslaught against the forex dealers was part of the effort of the EFCC to deal with the current dollar crises Nigeria is facing.

The EFCC detectives went to many forex trading hubs in Abuja, and ransacked their vaults for stash of dollars and the local trading currency, naira.

The EFCC later arrested about 25 legal and illegal forex dealers in addition to the 40 arrested on Tuesday, November 1, in a raid of the Zone 4 Wuse offices of the Association of Bureau de Change Operators.

Phones of those that were arrested have been seized, according to reports.

The anti-graft agency also arrested about 14 forex dealers in Lagos on Wednesday while eight others were picked up at the famous Bureau de Change market located at Kano.
