Okey Ikechukwu, Executive Director of Development Specs Academy, has advised the Labour Party and Obidient Movement to ensure that they also dispense money during electioneering instead of relying on the "We no dey give shishi" mantra.
According to him, they need to distinguish between mandatory expenses and discretionary expenses.
Ikechukwu gave the advice when he appeared on Arise TV's The Morning Show on Wednesday to discuss the prospects of the coalition against President Bola Tinubu.
He said, "The coalition should prepare for a fight with the APC and President Tinubu. I don't see them as sufficiently strategic to be able to defeat the APC.
"While the Obidient movement is growing stronger, they must realise there are no polling booths on the Internet. Labour Party must make a distinction between mandatory expenses and discretionary expenses instead of generalising the 'we no dey give shishi' mantra."
Turning to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which is currently facing an internal crisis, Ikechukwu said the party is only pretending that it has not imploded.
He said, "The PDP has already imploded. The party is still trying to pretend that it still has an identity. It's trying to pretend that the NEC can still take binding decisions, it's trying to pretend like it can control its membership when nobody can control Nyesom Wike. PDP is not poised to win the 2027 election at the level of strategy and cohesion."
