Dubai allegedly bans visa application for Nigerians over recent fight in Satwa - Aremu Afolayan

The United Arabs Emirate has reportedly banned visa applications for Nigerians following the viral fight in Satwa.

In a video making rounds, some Africans migrants, some Nigerians stormed the streets to cause chaos thereby terrifying residents.

A footage of the incident shows some young men carrying machetes on a rampage in the late hours of the night. The men broke the windows of a car, destroyed other properties, and chased innocent residents thereby causing fear in the neighbourhood.

It was later reported that days after the video went viral, the troublemakers have been arrested by Dubai police.

However, the Dubai government has since the incident put to a halt the visa application for Nigerians to Dubai.

According to unconfirmed reports, the Dubai authorities are currently not issuing visas to Nigerian men below the age of 36.

Reacting to the chaos from Dubai, Nigerian actor, Aremu Afolayan expressed his disappointment as the decision taken by the Dubai authorities will affect hardworking Nigerians.

He said; "Pick up the trouble makers and don't use that to destroy the livelihood of every other Nigerians," he said in a video.

"They make trouble and kill each other, take them to jail, do anything to them, they deserve it. But there are innocent Nigerians that need to feed," he added.
