Drama in Adamawa as INEC declares Binani Governor-elect

Following the declaration of Senator Aisha Dahiru, popularly known as Binani, as the winner of the Adamawa governorship election, there has been heightened tension in the state.

On Sunday morning, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Bibabi as the governor-elect of Adamawa hours after the supplementary election was held on Saturday.

The announcement was postponed till 11am after only 10 local government areas (LGAs) were declared earlier, with 10 more LGAs still awaiting the announcement.

As the Resident Electoral Commissioner for the state, Barrister Hudu Yunusa just made the declaration, report indicates that military personnel have taken over the streets of the state’s capital, Yola to prevent chaos.
