Don't equate Buhari to Jesus Christ - Elijah Ayodele criticizes Islamic organization

Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has reacted to the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) statement regarding the June 12 demonstrators.

In a statement, MURIC compared President Muhammadu Buhari to Jesus, claiming that the demonstrators are ungrateful for the President's proclamation of June 12 as Democracy Day in honor of MKO Abiola.

Primate Ayodele reacted angrily, calling the comparison sacrilege and emphasizing that MURIC was a disgrace.

The man of God cautioned MURIC not to equate Jesus Christ to a normal mortal in a statement shared to DAILY POST, as he sees it as a major disrespect.

He claimed that the Islamic organisation was attempting to create a religious schism in Nigeria.

“Government celebrates nonsense; an organization like MURIC is a disgrace to the religious sector; comparing Our LORD JESUS Christ to a mere mortal like President Buhari is blasphemy; if this was a Christian organization comparing someone to Mohammed (SAW), it would have turned into something else,” he said.

“Before Jesus, who was President Buhari? This is absurd; if caution is not exercised, MURIC will result in a religious crisis. The government must address this; it is absurd, and the group will be penalized as a result.“
This is why Christian leaders must unite to remove all of these stains from Christ's body; MURIC must apologize for that comment; can we compare Mohammed (SAW) to a rat? Not even a human being, we cant.

“Top Islamic leaders must keep a close eye on their conduct; Sheikh Gumi is the one dealing with terrorists in the country, and MURIC is already on a path that will lead to a religious war if not dealt properly. If MURIC makes this declaration again, the organization will face spiritual consequences.

“I'm not a big supporter of replying to individuals who don't think clearly, but when Jesus Christ's name was invoked, I felt compelled to speak; I can't sit by and let someone or an organization compare Jesus Christ to a mere mortal.

“I expect Christian organizations to have handled this issue, but it's bad that they're becoming into government agencies, which is why I'll never be able to join one.

“Anyone who compares Mohammed to a mere mortal would be severely chastised. What is MURIC? Who or what is making the comparison between Jesus Christ and ordinary Buhari? What has he done to warrant such a comparison? I'm not abusing Mr. President since I respect him, but I'm sure he won't take it.

“MURIC should exercise caution before becoming a religious terrorist; they should also apologize to the Christian community; else, they will face spiritual consequences.”
