The Chairman, Nigeria Breweries, Chief Kola Jamodu, called on all Nigerians to do their best to encourage the country’s leaders to do what is right for the country.

He urged the elite, who had access to the political class to use the opportunity to encourage nation-building.

Speaking at the New Year’s dance and induction of new members of Nigeria’s premier club, The Island Club, held in Lagos on Friday, he said, “Let us continue to do our very best to encourage our leaders to do the right thing.“

Seated here are men and women, who are either in power or close to those in power. I urge you all to use this access to encourage the leaders of this country to build our nation.”

On the club, Jamodu said, “Let us continue to work towards the peaceful progress of the Island Club, because without doubt, we are one of the most peaceful clubs in the country. I am confident that in 2022, we will remain prominent in Nigeria.”

The club Chairman, Otunba Kehinde Shitta, in his address, said, “The events of the past year have compelled us all to be grateful and thankful to the Almighty for his all-round protection. As we rejoice, however, let us remember and pray for the souls of the deceased members and friends who were unable to be around us today.“

As expressed in my Christmas Eve Dance speech, the baton of leadership of the club has also changed due to the maladministration of the immediate past leadership and we thank you for the confidence and trust reposed in this new administration since we came on board in the month of November 2020.

The club also welcomed 12 new members, consisting of professionals in various spheres of life, to the club.
