Discrimination by the APC has worsened youth unemployment, poverty - GRV

The Labour Party governorship candidate for Lagos state, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, is of the belief that the culture of impunity will continue as long as the ruling party remains in power.

His comment comes following reports of thugs attacking people, seizing their phones and demanding ransom in Lagos.

On Thursday, April 4, 2024, filmmaker Biodun Stephen shared a video on social media about how thugs have taken over the streets of Lagos and boldly attacked residents.

According to him, the discriminatory policy of the All Progressives Congress has worsened youth unemployment as well as poverty in the state.

Reacting to the video, GRV wrote;

"This is a creation of the political elite in Lagos that have enshrined a culture of violence and impunity. These thugs are armed by politicians and used to win elections, after which the citizens are left at their mercy.

What is worse is that the extractive and discriminatory policy of the APC has worsened youth unemployment and poverty, forcing many into drugs and criminality.

As long as this party remains in power, this culture of impunity will worsen. They have no intention to build a modern economy that works for everyone but a feudal system where they can share palliatives to communities who kiss the ring.

There must be collective action in rooting out these parasitic politicians who leave behind chaos instead of prosperity."
