A video of Dino Melaye, governorship candidate of Kogi state, selling groundnut on the streets of Abuja has emerged.

The former Senator representing Kogi West was seen wearing a kaftan, and a wristwatch, as he carried a tray of groundnut on his head while convincing people to patronise his business.

The lawyer, who is contesting on the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party, received several buyers who were willing to buy his groundnut.

A man seated in a car asked Dino to sell a cup of his boiled groundnut for N10 which was being sold at the price of N50. Dino who refused bargained with the man and sold a cup for N30.

Another lady asked to buy three cups of groundnut for N100. In response, Dino asked if she was asking to buy the peanut for such amount in the current state of the economy led by President Muhammadu Buhari where prices of goods are high.

Reacting to Dino Melaye's street skills, some Nigerians took to social media to share their thoughts.

realsirken: These are the kind of things we celebrate in our political space… other countries will see us as jokers… only in Nigeria when it’s time for elections all politicians will start humanitarian work, then after elections nobody will see them again. Yet we keep voting for the same circle and even call them leaders. Leading you to where biko.

samvail: This guy suppose don act better Netflix premium movie… Politics no fit am

officialkunleadegbite: either u hate him or not this guy is a free spirited man .... very eloquent ... sound upstairs.... out going governor yaya bello need someone like Dino to challenge him . and what some people dont is that Dino malaye will perform wen he become governor, just like Adeleke in osun, they know what masses wants.... forget the way they play on social media, they are good people and they will definitely perform very well.

uchennaji: Wow!!! So a humble and godfearing man, clearly these are the kind of leaders Kogi -state needs now

tokunboawoga: Be sincere to yourself, you can't hate him. He still challenged a whole lot of negative policy when he was senator and he fought for the masses. He's also a free spirited man and looks like he has a good heart. He should do well as Governor.
