Dessers, Onuachu combine to inspire Genk to flawless win over Royal Antwerp

Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers scored for KRC Genk in the Belgian Jupiler league championship playoff win over Royal Antwerp on Thursday.

Dessers started the match from the bench and was able to make his mark when called upon by the coach.

The 26-year-old replaced compatriot Paul Onuachu on the 74th minute and made an immediate impact by scoring a minute after his introduction.

The former Heracles forward received a pass from Japanese forward Junya Ito to make the scoreline 4 – 0 in favor of his club.

Cyriel Dessers has now scored seven goals from 21 appearances for the coach John van den Bromon ‘s side this season.

Meanwhile his compatriot, Onuachu failed to hit the target, but he assisted two of the goals scored by hat-trick hero Kristian Thorstvedt.

The visitors kept Genk in the second position with 41 points, three points adrift Club Brugge who sits on the table.
