Delta Air Lines has officially launched its first nonstop flight between Atlanta and Marrakech, reportedly marking a historic milestone for the United States carrier and a major step forward in US–Morocco connectivity.
Operated by a Boeing 767-400ER, the inaugural flight landed at Marrakech Menara Airport on October 26, inaugurating a new three-times-a-week service that links Morocco’s “Red City” to more than 125 US destinations via Delta’s global hub in Atlanta, according to a statement by the company.
With the launch, Delta “becomes the first US airline to operate a nonstop route between Atlanta and Marrakech, boosting business, leisure, and cultural exchanges between both countries.”
The new service, it was said, also represented Delta’s latest entry into North Africa, adding Marrakech to its African network alongside Accra, Lagos, Dakar, Cape Town, and Johannesburg.
“Delta’s new nonstop service to Marrakech marks an exciting milestone in our commitment to connect the US and Africa. This route opens the door to one of the world’s most vibrant and culturally rich destinations, making travel more seamless for our customers. With three weekly flights from Atlanta, we’re delivering convenience alongside Delta’s renowned premium experience. From lie-flat seats in Delta One to curated dining and thoughtful amenities across all cabin experiences, customers can expect comfort at every step of their journey. This expansion also reinforces Atlanta’s position as the world’s leading global hub, offering convenient one-stop connectivity, while bringing the magic of Marrakech closer than ever,” said Managing Director of EMEAI Operations, Christine Marchand-Pardo.
The statement added that the ATL–RAK route will operate three times per week, with departures from Marrakech on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, and from Atlanta on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Between December 18 and January 6, 2026, the route will temporarily increase to a daily service to meet holiday travel demand.
The company noted that flights will be operated by Delta’s Boeing 767-400ER, offering different onboard experiences across all cabins, including Delta One with lie-flat seats and chef-curated meals; Delta Premium Select with extra space and elevated dining; Delta Comfort and Delta Main Cabin options with enhanced amenities; and free, fast Wi-Fi via Delta Sync for SkyMiles members, saying every seat also features personal in-flight entertainment with over 1,000 hours of content.
“With seamless one-stop connections through Atlanta, the route brings Marrakech within reach for travellers from cities across the US, including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Boston, Miami, and San Francisco.
“Since launching its first African service in 2006, Delta has flown over 7.5 million passengers to the continent and continues to expand its presence in Africa. With Marrakech now part of its network, Delta serves six African cities, offering travellers increased access to the continent.
“The new service also reflects Delta’s continued investment in international expansion from its Atlanta hub, the world’s busiest and most connected airport, with nearly 1,000 daily flights to 215 destinations worldwide,” the statement added.
Founded in 1925, Delta Air Lines said it is one of the world’s largest and most awarded airlines and the first US carrier to celebrate 100 years of service. The airline boasted that it operates more than 5,000 daily flights to over 300 destinations across six continents.
