Defection among politicians causing crisis - Abdulsalami

Abdulsalami Abubakar, a former head of state, has raised concerns over the frequent defections by politicians in the country.

The elder statesman is concerned that cross carpeting from one political party to the other heats up the polity.

In recent times, three governors have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Abubakar stated that defections have triggered some crisis in Nigeria.

According to him, defections have a negative influence on Nigerian politics.
