Dessers on Super Eagles' performance

In his post-match interview following the 2-1 victory, the 29-year-old, as captured by All Nigeria Soccer, reflected on the team's performance:

"At the start of the first half, we played very well. We created some good chances; the goalkeeper made a great save from me and another from Kelechi [Iheanacho]. I was delighted to finally score the goal that put us 1-0 ahead. It's a significant victory for us."

"I had a strong first half. The second half was a bit tougher, not just for me but for the whole team."

Discussing his decision to take the penalty that opened the scoring for the Super Eagles, he added:

"I asked Kelechi if I could take it, and he agreed. It's a special moment to take a penalty for the Super Eagles, as it represents the hopes of an entire nation. Especially in a game against Ghana, you definitely want to convert."

Dessers, seemingly pleased with his performance, will aim to maintain this form when the Super Eagles face Mali in their next international fixture.
