Former BBNaija reality TV star, Tacha, has slammed all those who love to attack Lagos State with all sorts of criticisms on social media.
According to her, Lagos might not be perfect, but its current situation is a result of the burden it carries, which ought to be the responsibility of other states in Nigeria.
This was as he wondered why those who fled from the failed states to Lagos never directed the same criticisms to the governors of such states.
She said in a video, "Before you criticise Lagos, ask yourself one question: What is your own state doing? Every day I hear people saying Lagos is dirty, Lagos is smelling, Lagos is full of beggars, Lagos is crowded, and I laugh because Lagos is not the problem here, Lagos is the symptom.
"Listen guys. We have 36 states in Nigeria, and yet Lagos is carrying the weight of the whole country. Over 20 million Nigerians live in Lagos. Let me ask you, have you tried to manage Nigerians before? Try it. The real question is, why are all of these people in Lagos, Nigeria, 20 million people? They are in Lagos because governors in Nigeria do absolutely nothing. They sit in their office for eight years, no jobs, no infrastructure, no nightlife, no economy, absolutely nothing. They don't get judged for it, they don't get called out for it, and people have no other choice but to run to Lagos for greener pastures.
"If about 10 to 15 states were doing half of what Lagos is doing, the pressure on Lagos will reduce drastically. Every other state in Nigeria is asleep"
Tacha then criticises her home state, Rivers State, for failing infrastructure, poor economy, lamenting that it is only politics and church business that work there.
"Now tell, why would I leave my own state, Rivers State, come online to insult Lagos. If that is not hypocrisy, what should I call it? Most of the beggars you see in Lagos are not even from Lagos State. They are running from failures in their own state. So, instead of shouting Lagos, Lagos, Lagos, go and ask your governor what he is doing? The day other states rise up, the other states decide to step up, Lagos will breathe, and Nigeria will finally move forward. Until then, respect Lagos, not because it is perfect, but because it is carrying the burden everybody else has dropped," Tacha said.
