Coronavirus rise: Schools nationwide may be shut again - FG

The Federal Government has announced that should the coronavirus cases continue to rise, schools across the country will be shut again.

This was said in a video on Monday, February 1, 2021, by the Presidential task force on coronavirus via the official Twitter handle.

The national incident manager of the taskforce, Mukhtar Muhammed noted:

“Now, the PTF is watching this very closely, we are monitoring what is going on and if we find out that cases continue to rise in the country and we start to have incidences in schools, certainly, we will have the schools closed.’’

He said the reopening of schools across the country should have been postponed till a later date since the country was still experiencing the pandemic

Muhammed added that the task force would continue to monitor academic institutions across the country to ensure that the COVID-19 safety protocols are strictly adhered to.
