Unemployment rates in the United States have soared to 40 million.

This is due to the deadly coronavirus that has grounded businesses as well as the workforce.

A recent poll obtained by MyNigeria.com showed that US residents are not comfortable with resuming to business activities.

40% supported the decision to send their children to school while 37% agreed with the need to go to a restaurant. An additional 23% were comfortable taking a plane.

According to Kevin Hassett, Senior economic adviser to President Trump, he expected a 20% surge in unemployment in the northern part of the country.

He added that he expects “the unemployment rate will be higher in June than in May, but then after that, it should start to trend down.”
