French authorities have announced that only a minimum of 1,000 football fans will be allowed into stadiums for Ligue 1 matches as part of measures to control the spread of the coronavirus.

According to Sports Minister, Roxana Maracineanu, the regulations will last until April 15, with the last Coupe de la Ligue final between PSG and Lyon set to be affected.

The decision was confirmed after chairing a meeting on Monday to discuss plans to combat the outbreak.

Paris Saint-Germain's game against Strasbourg on Saturday was postponed due to the virus, while their Champions League last-16 second leg at home to Borussia Dortmund will be played behind closed doors following guidance from the police.[Goal]
