Coronavirus: E.A Adeboye advises Nigerians to wear face mask

Pastor Enoch Adeboye advises Nigerians to wear face masks Pastor Enoch Adeboye advises Nigerians to wear face masks

The general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye has cautioned Nigerians not to desist from the habit of wearing face masks as the coronavirus cases in the country continue to rise.

His advice comes in the wake of Pastor Biodun Lawal of Christ Embassy's comment over the wearing of face masks.

Pastor Lawal during his sermon said he is ashamed of other clerics and Christians who wear face masks in church, describing such persons as 'baby Christian'.

This statement didn't go down well with Nigerians as some called for his arrest for deceiving his congregation.

However, Pastor Adeboye took to his Twitter page to advise his followers to continue wearing the mask.

"Stay safe, wear a mask!" he said.

In a publication sighted on legit.ng.com, some Twitter users shared their thought on the Pastors caution.

Twitter user with the handle @OfficialLovethM wrote: "With all due respect sir, where is the faith, miracle and healing you preach? Where is Psalm 91 in all these?"

@_ogbonda commented:

"If Daddy G.O had said we shouldn't wear mask some of you will still castigate him, he has said wear mask and some people are still insulting him.

"Whether or not you believe coronavirus is real."

@stephen_onovo reacted:

"What has faith got to do with obeying the rules and regulations placed by the government. Is he not a Nigerian living in Nigeria? If you get sense small will you die?

"This is a man with millions of followers, is he supposed to encourage his followers not to protect themselves?"
