Arik Air has announced an 80% cut in the salaries of all workers for April 2020.

Also, it seeks to force 90% of its staff to proceed on a leave without pay.

According to the airline, this is the sad outcome of a careful deliberation and analysis by the management and entire organization resulting from the pandemic that has grounded movement of goods and services.

MyNigeria.com learnt that the position will be reviewed on a monthly basis by the Human Resources department as the situation evolves.

“While we are not unaware of the challenges that each and every one of us may face during this difficult period, we join you in remaining hopeful that this ugly situation will abate in the shortest possible time and our organization will come out stronger in the long run.

“We are confident that the steps we are taking now are in the best interest of all and will see us through this difficult epoch in the history of mankind,” a statement issued by the airline said.
