Napoli manager Antonio Conte has dropped Victor Osimhen from the squad list for their 2025/2026 preseason campaign.

This development comes amid ongoing negotiations between Galatasaray and Napoli over a potential transfer for the Nigerian international.

Osimhen is expected to leave the Serie A club permanently this summer, following the conclusion of his loan spell with Galatasaray last season.

The Turkish Super Lig champions are eager to secure the Super Eagles striker on a permanent basis after his outstanding campaign with the club.

The 26-year-old netted 37 goals in 41 competitive appearances for the Yellow and Reds.

Galatasaray have submitted a new €70 million bid for Osimhen after Napoli rejected their initial offer of €50 million.

However, the Naples-based club is holding out for the full payment of Osimhen's €75 million release clause.

Osimhen was notably absent when Napoli’s preseason campaign kicked off on Monday, July 14.

Reports indicate that Antonio Conte excused the Nigerian international to allow him time to resolve his future with the club.
