Remi Tinubu, senator representing Lagos central, was recently involved in a verbal altercation with some attendees at the South West zonal public hearing of the constitution review on Wednesday.

The commotion began after residents queued to register before allowed entry into the hall of the event been held at Marriot Hotel in Lagos.

According to reports, whiles residents waited in the queue, Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Ol arrived and was ushered in through the backdoor, after which the front door was shut and informed that registration had closed for the day.

This action did not go down well with residents who had joined the queue and was waiting to be let in. They, however, remained in the queue and refused to depart.

Suddenly, some lawmakers from Oyo state arrived and were to be ushered into the hall quarrel broke out with people on the queue disappointed after been prevented from entering but gave way for the Oyo lawmakers to make their way through the back door.

People in the queue hurriedly followed suit preventing them from entering the hall.

This then brought about Remi Tinubu who showed up at the backdoor to allow the lawmakers in.

A woman, who had been on the queue decried the unfair treatment meted out on them.

The senator responded thereby calling her a thug for screaming.

This statement by Tinubu infuriated people in the queue, who demanded that she apologise for her comment. However, she refused.

Remi Tinubu said, “I will not apologise for what I said. I saw it and I said it,” the senator maintained.
