Chukwueze could miss Europa finals after suspected groin injury

Nigeria and Villareal winger, Samuel Chukwueze could miss the Europa League finals against Manchester United after he was stretched off in the semi-final second leg game against Arsenal on Thursday, May 6, 2021.

The winger sustained a suspected groin injury and was replaced in the 29th minutes by 18-year-old, Yeremi Pino.

Chukwueze already had a groin injury earlier this year, in which he was out for a month and missed 8 games. He’s been fantastic for the Yellow Submarines since he returned, Brila.net said.

Villarreal, however, coped with the setback and was able to hold Arsenal to a goalless draw which is enough to qualify them for their first European final in their history.

Recalled the Unai Emery led side won the first leg 2-1 at home last week and they will play another English team Manchester United in the final on the 26th of May.

As for Arsenal, the result brought an end to their 25-year run in Europe.
