Borussia Dortmund midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka has snubbed the Nigeria national football team, Super Eagles, by committing his international future to Austria.

Chukwuemeka was born in Vienna, Austria, to Nigerian parents but was raised in England.

The former Chelsea midfielder was eligible to represent all three countries under FIFA regulations.

The former Aston Villa midfielder represented England at U-17 football team through to U-20 football team level.

Football governing body FIFA has approved Chukwuemeka's international switch, which means he could make his international debut later this month.

Austria are set to take on Ghana and South Korea in international friendlies on March 27 and March 31, respectively.
