Christians facing existential threat at hands of Fulani militants - US Congressman

US Congressman Rep Riley Moore has said more needs to be done to protect Christians in Nigeria following a recent attack that saw the abduction of 100 worshippers at a church.

The attack was reportedly carried out by Fulani terrorists in Kaduna State.

Although the Kaduna State government and the police gave denied such incident, the Northern wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) claims the number of abductees is 163.

The incident has been condemned by Moore who visited Nigeria recently as part of effort by the United States to end Christian genocide in the country.

He said on X, "Armed radical Muslim Fulani attacked three churches yesterday and kidnapped more than 100 Christian worshippers.

"Our brothers and sisters in Christ are facing an existential threat at the hands of the Fulani militants.

"More must be done to protect them, and I urge the Nigerian government to ensure the swift and safe return of all those who were captured."
