Cherubim and Seraphim Church tells Nigerians to move on, backs Sanwo-Olu's peacewalk

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State

The planned peace walk by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has gained support from the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Yaba District Headquarters (Ogo Serafu).

In a news conference to celebrate the church's 50-years anniversary at the headquarters in Ijeshatedo, the chairman of the committee, Samuel Sogunro urged the youth to move-on regardless of the incidents that characterized the October 20, 2020, protest at the Lekki Tollgate.

Recall, MyNigeria reported that Governor Sanwo-Olu on November 30 called on the youth and other stakeholders to join him on a peace walk for the healing of Lagos after the violence that trailed the 2020 #EndSARS protests against police brutality, extortion, and bad governance.

The celebrities invited for the walk include #EndSARS campaigners Seun Kuti, Folarin Falana (Falz), Debo Adebayo (Mr. Macaroni) and Segun Awosanya (Segalink).

Mr Sogunro, a former rector of the Lagos State Polytechnic said at the conference that what happened at the Lekki tollgate was irreversible but we must all come together to move the nation forward.

”The bottom line is that we must move forward as a nation, and we continue to learn every day. I believe that what happened during that EndSARS will never repeat itself. So many things, many infrastructures of government were destroyed,” Mr Sogunro pointed out. “I bet you if it had been other states, they would not get over it till thy kingdom come, but we want to appreciate the Lagos state government for rising up to that challenge. Lagos state government has been doing very well, as far as infrastructural development and listens to the masses.”

He added. “So, the peace walk is the thing that everyone wants to embrace. What has happened has happened. We need to move on. Let us come together and forge ahead. I believe the government is reasoning in the right direction. So people should join hands with the government to make sure that we come together and build our country ourselves.”
