Castration: No punishment is too severe for a rapist - Pastor Adeboye

Pastor Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has said that no form of punishment given to a rapist is too severe.

The clergyman stated this weeks after Uwaila Omozuwa, a 100 level student of the University of Benin, UNIBEN, was raped and murdered inside a branch of his church in Edo State.

Three more ladies have also been raped and murdered since the Uwaila incident happened.

This has led to calls for strict punishment for rapists with some suggesting castration.

Speaking in a live broadcast on his Dove TV, Pastor Adeboye stated that no punishment is too severe for a rapist.

He also called on all Christians to join in praying for rapists to be fished out.

"I will cry to my God, the All Knowing God, to fish them all out so that they will face Justice. As much as I hate the death sentence, because anyone who is dead cannot be reached for salvation, I think every form of punishment that will be given to a rapist cannot be considered too severe.

"So, God help me, I will keep on crying to God that anyone who will ever think of raping anybody again, the Almighty God will stop then before they can ever think of doing so, even if he has to take them away from this world to achieve that purpose.

"I'm calling on every Christian all over the world, please join me in praying this prayer", Pastor Adeboye said.
