Car accident kills two, injures seven in Ogun

At least, two persons have been killed after multiple cars crashed on Friday at the Ota axis of the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway in Ogun State.

According to the state's Federal Road Safety Corps - FRSC's Public Education Officer, Florence Okpe, the accident occurred at about 11:30am at the Toll Gate area of the highway, leaving seven other people injured.

The two fatalities comprise of a man and woman while those injured in the crash are two women and five men, according to the FRSC.

Okpe suspected that brake failure caused the accident which involved a truck and three other vehicles, as well as two motorcycles.

The corpses have been deposited at the General Hospital in Ifo while the injured victims were taken to the Ota General Hospital, Okpe added.

On his part, the FRSC Sector Commander in Ogun, Clement Oladele, commiserated with the victims and families of the dead persons.

He urged the residents whose relation used the corridor that period to contact the FRSC Command in Ota for more information about the crash or the two hospitals.
