Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has hit back at critics claiming she is suffering from arthritis, after a video of her dancing went viral online.

Reacting on her Instagram page, Edochie questioned how her critics could link her movements and active lifestyle to the condition, insisting she remains strong, energetic and active.

She challenged those spreading the claim to compare her energy to that of their own mothers.

"Can their mothers ever be as strong, active, energetic, and flexible as I am? Impossible!" she wrote.

The actress explained that she had been moving around, travelling and standing for extended hours while promoting her latest movie, and accused her critics of being driven by jealousy over her current trending status.

"Your empty head could only find arthritis to talk about," she added.

Edochie also used the moment to criticise online bullying more broadly, noting that such attacks can push people into depression.

She maintained that she would not let her critics stop her from using social media or sharing updates with her followers.
